| Earlier today I was contacted by a person named Yankee White with regard to a website I created as a memorial for my brother Brian, who always wanted to be a comic artist. He mentioned a comic book publisher, Stupefying Yarns, which led me here.
Almost two and a half years ago, my brother dropped out of our lives. The family has been looking for him ever since. If anyone on this forum has been in contact with Brian, please let me know.
For rather unexpected reasons, something made me think of Brian's drawings late this spring. I asked my mother to ship his sketchbooks to me, but was surprised to find she had sold them to a collector a year before. He was a well-dressed man with a British accent who claimed he was a big fan of Brian's art. He even showed her what seemed to be a letter in Brian's hand assuring her that she should take the money (our father was dealing with some very expensive health issues.)
The only reason I mention it here was triggered by something in Mr. White's note. After the deal was made, a second man - he seemed like an assistant, my mom said - arrived to carry the artwork away. Like the first man, he was wearing a suit - but also a bowler hat. It struck her as odd.

| Hi Rory thanks for posting here many of us are looking to solve a mystery and it looks like you and your brother might be related to it. I've looked at your website and wanted to ask what the Orange & Indigo page is about. What do you mean by you can see them now. Also I wanted to ask if your brother ever talked about Yugoslavia we believe that Stupifying Yarns is a comic book publisher based out of Yugoslavia and want to learn more about the comic books. Thank you again Rory | |

| Hi, Coope46
The story of Newton's inclusion of orange and indigo in the spectrum is well-known to those who study optics. For now, that's all I feel comfortable saying about that.
As far as I remember, my brother never mentioned Yugoslavia. As for whether Stupefying Yarns was based there - I imagine everyone on this board knows more about that than I do. Sorry I can't be more help.
What is the mystery you are trying to solve?

| Well there are multiple but the one that I think you would be the most interested in is about stupifying yarns there are many people on this forum that remember the comic books but there is no trace of them anywhere on the internet that we can find. But a little over a week ago a envelope was sent to ARGinsider on twitter with a ripped up cover of a real Stupefying Yarns cover, just like the books your brother used to talk about. So we are trying to figure out a number of things. One what happened to Stupefying Yarns. Two who sent the envelope and three where do you play into all of this, how did your brother know about the comic books. We believe your brother might have something to do with the disappearance of these comic books or he might be able to lead us to find out what happened to them. The only other person that seems to know something about the comic books has shown up in a series of youtube videos by someone named charity kong | |

| As a general rule, I don't find conspiracy theories compelling. Either they are a symptom of the pattern-seeking instinct in the human mind run amok, or they are an attempt to give a simple answer ("THEY did it!") to complex, multivariate phenomena.
Of course, my brother and I are important *to me* ... but ultimately we are no more important than any two people. If you are looking for a sign that we are keys to some vast conspiracy, constantly watched by shadowy figures, I fear you will be disappointed.

| Hello Rory, thanks for the kind words. There is a mystery that is important "to The Yarnies", at least the veterans of this board. LilSmartAx (real name Muriel IIRC) is missing. She's after, or has in her possesion, the Wasserstein Grail.
It's a foil covered paper mache grail. The paper used is Stupefying Yarns comic pages. It's a pretty big deal.
She's a huge Wonder Woman fan and is Team Purple in the great "Scropius: yellow vs. purple?" debate.
